Barcelona, Spain Montjuic Pompeia Club Tennis Courts sit perched at the top of the Montjuïc Hill overlooking this Catalonia city.
The courts reside in the shadow of the artistic Telecommunications Tower built to broadcast the 1992 Olympic Summer Games. Montjuic Pompeia Club in Barcelona is a scenic place to play tennis in this legendary city.
The club has seven clay courts all nicely maintained. There is also a very comfortable clubhouse. Drop in fees are quite reasonable.

The site for several of the venues of the 1992 Summer Olympics the Olympic stadium was actually built in 1929 was to hold the anti-facist olympics as an alternative to to the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
The stadium was extensively refurbished and renamed the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The 65,000-seat stadium hosted the opening and closing ceremonies athletic events.
What is known as Anella Olímpica (the “Olympic Ring”) of sporting venues was built. It includes the Palau Sant Jordi indoor arena, the Institut Nacional d’Educació Física de Catalunya, a centre of sports science; the Piscines Bernat Picornell and the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc, the venues for swimming and diving and the striking telecommunications tower, designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava.
The palacial Palau Nacional is the home of the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, an extensive showcase of Catalan painting and sculpture. The Funicular de Montjuïc, a funicular railway that operates as part of the Barcelona Metro, followed by a gondola lift will take you to the top of Montejuic.
The Miramar terminal of the Port Vell Aerial Tramway is on the eastern slope. It connects Montjuïc with Barceloneta on the other side of Port Vell. Parks and gardens cover much of the hill.
