Tennis in The Andes Mountains

El Bolson, Argentina-Cancha Tenis

El Bolson, Argentina Cancha Tenis. We stumbled upon this place after asking a young boy hitting a tennis ball against his house if he could tell us where there were courts in town. With our little bit of Spanish, and his bits of English we managed to find out there was a thriving public court, one of the few we had found in this country.

The coach of the children’s program was heavily into a class when we arrived, but after giving us a traditional Argentine kiss on the cheek she told us we were welcome to play as soon as the kids were done. These kids were loving their tennis lessons, and we wouldn’t be surprised if some great young tennis players come from this village in the Andes.

What To Do After Playing Tennis In El Bolson-Enjoy The Andes

El Bolson is located in Northern Patagonia region of Argentina. For the most part it is a quiet quaint mountain town with plenty of places to eat, drink and sleep and things to see. Fringed on either side by Andes mountain ranges it’s a mecca for outdoor activities.

A hike to the top of Mt-Piltriquitron is a popular activity for people visiting El Bolson. Looming above the town, there is a road that goes part way up the mountain.

El Bolson is known as a haven for hippies. It’s market draws them and others out in droves.

The hike to the top is on a well marked trail. At the top there is a refuge hut, and part way up is a sculpture garden.
