Tennis at Home Training-Part of the New Normal?
As more tennis players find themselves back on the court, one of the lessons learned was that home training can be beneficial
It gives you the time and focus to improve your game before you get on the court. During this off-court time we also learned that there are lots of tennis training aids that can help you with this process.
So we took to the parking lot to test out some of the training tools that were sent to us by OnCourtOffCourt. Here are some that we have found.
1. Backswing Solution Tennis Training Tool
Coach Charlie Nicks, The Tennis Tourist and Zoe check out The Backswing Solution by Oncourt Offcourt. By keeping your elbows out in front, this tennis training tool prevents you from taking too big of a backswing on your volleys and return of serve.
2. The Toss Doctor Tennis Training Tool
Toss Doctor is an offcourt oncourt training aid to help tennis players perfect their serve toss. Coach Charlie Nicks takes a look at The Toss Doctor and shows Bill the Tennis Tourist and Zoe how it can help them with their serve toss.
3. Off Court Tennis Training with The Toss Fixer
Checking out ‘The Toss Fixer’ an OnCourt OffCourt tennis training tool. This piece of equipment helps tennis players develop height, rhythm and consistency in their serve toss. Coach Charlie Nicks and The Tennis Tourist check it out in their series about ‘off court training anywhere’ shot in a parking lot in beautiful Victoria BC.
4. Wrist Racquet Off-Court Tennis Training Tool
The Wrist Racquet off-court training tool. We wanted to get some off court training while we’re not travelling. OncourtOffcourt sent us some training tools and we are giving them a try with Victoria BC tennis coach Charlie Nicks. Check out our website to find out more.
5. Arm Pocket Developer-Off Court Tennis Training Tool
In this series of oncourt offcourt training, coach Charlie Nicks uses the Arm Pocket Developer. Teaching through sensation, it helps tennis players with spacing of the elbow, wrist and racquet from the body, to develop unit turns and to stay compact during volleys.
6. Tennis Training Tool-Whip Strips
Coach Charlie Nicks and The Tennis Tourist look at Whip Strips, a tennis training tool that helps players increase their racquet head speed on ground strokes, serves and any stroke where you want increased racquet head speed. The Tennis Tourist travels around the world to find the best places to play tennis.
7. How to Train with a Driveway Tennis Package Mini-Net
If you can’t get to a tennis court, you can bring one with you! Coach Charlie Nicks, Zoe and The Tennis Tourist use a mini-net and training racquets and balls to work on topspin and slice technique.
